How to Disable Notification Balloons, Pop-ups in Windows Vista?

Whenever you make any changes in your security center, a popup arises in the Windows Vista system tray which is really irritating. You can permanently disable this notification balloon from Windows Vista.

Well, here are two methods to disable notification balloons in Windows Vista. Follow any one of the method to get rid of weird notification popup.

Method 1:

  • Go to start menu, type regedit.exe in search bar and open the Registry Editor.
  • Follow this path:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

  • Create new REG_DWORD (32 bit) value and name it as “EnableBalloonTips” and assign value “0″ to it.

  • Close the Registry Editor. Logoff the window and Login back again.

Method 2:

  • Go to start menu, type GPEDIT.MSC and open the Group Policy Object Editor.
  • Follow this path:

    User Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> Double click on Start Menu and Taskbar

  • Double click on Turn off all balloon notifications. Select Enabled and apply it.

  • Close the Group Policy Object Editor.
  • Logoff the window and Login back again.
