Yahoo announced that they are ready with their new social networking portal for Indian users. Looking at the social networking craze in India, it is good to start a new social networking site. The name of this new social network is SpotM and it’s currently available in beta.
SpotM is basically designed to target the young generation of India and it has some distinct features to make this new hang-out place more interesting. SpotM provides a feature of secret friends which allows making friends with other users and if that user chooses to make those friends private then third user will not come to know the relationship between two individuals.
The other useful feature is SMS integration with anonymous chat. This feature will let users correspond via SMS without revealing their phone number. Yahoo India seems to be more concern about privacy of users which lacks in all other social networking site.
SpotM looks impressive but it will take time to be in a position to compete with big fish like Orkut, BigAdda. As social networking is getting very popular in India, it’s a perfect time to launch such portal and one thing is for sure that SpotM will provide good source of business to Yahoo India!
