iPhone 3.0 is Officially Released

iPhone 3.0 Finally the much awaited iPhone OS 3.0 is now available for iPhone and iPod Touch users! The latest iPhone 3.0 update comes with lots of new features which were showcased at Macworld Expo, San Francisco.

Although the iPhone 3.0 has been released, users will have to check the iPhone Dev team’s instructions to unlock their iPhone. Dev team has already released QuickPWN & Pwnagetool to jailbreak the devices and they have a new software, named as ‘ultrasnOw’ to unlock iPhone.

The ultrasnOw is an updated version of YellowsnOw software which was used in unlocking process of iPhone 3G. If you upgrade iPhone 3.0 (Build 7A341) on your iPhone then it will automatically update the baseband to 04.26.08.

Some major improvements and new features in iPhone 3.0 -

  • Cut, Copy and Paste
  • MMS
  • Push Notifications
  • Spotlight search
  • Stereo Bluetooth
  • Landscape Mode

The iPhone 3G S devices will have iPhone 3.0 as a default OS. So, iPhone 3G S users don’t have to worry about upgrade procedure.

I just tried the 2g file and i’m getting the same result.

Why do you want to extract the file? It’s already in .ipsw file and you can’t extract it further.

The download is a .zip file. It needs renamed from .zip to .ipsw to be recognized – none of the instructions say this.
