Google Wave Invitations

by Harshad on November 19, 2009

GoogleWave Logo Google Wave has become a popular topic on all tech forums and blogs. It was released for developers, but now Google team made it available to 1 million users.

For those who don’t know what is Google Wave, read the following excerpts from Wikipedia -

Wikipedia says:

Google Wave is designed as a new Internet communications platform. It is written in Java using OpenJDK and its web interface uses the Google Web Toolkit. Google Wave works like previous messaging systems like email and Usenet, but instead of sending a message along with its entire thread of previous messages, or requiring all responses to be stored in each user’s inbox for context, message documents (referred to as waves) that contain complete threads of multimedia messages (blips) are perpetually stored on a central server.

Google Wave is an open source tool and Google team is planning to make its source code public so that developers can design interesting applications for it.

Google’s new tool is very innovative and much advanced as compared to today’s social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Let’s take a quick look at its important features.

Google Wave Features

  • Open Source
  • Innovative way of communication
  • Video support
  • Easy and fast file sharing
  • Unique interface
  • Mobile Support

Google Wave Invitations

I’m sure everyone is curious to experience this advanced service. Unfortunately, Google Wave is an invitation based service. You will require an invitation from other Google Wave user to become a part of this wonderful tool.

I had shared New Orkut invitations and got great response from Tech Exclusive readers. Today, I have something bigger and better to share with you all. I am giving away 5 Google Wave invitations to 5 readers. You will have to follow simple steps to get an invitation from me.

Steps to follow:

1. Why do you want a Google Wave invitation? – Answer this question with your creative thoughts. Word Limit: 100 Words

Optional:

Google Wave Invitations – http://bit.ly/4CeGrG @TechExclusive

OR

Share this post on other social websites. For ex. Facebook, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Yahoo Buzz etc.

OR

Write a post on your blog about Google Wave and link back to this article so that I can check your blog post.

====================================================================

That’s it. You don’t have to do anything else. Follow these two steps properly and win a Google Wave invitation. Read following guidelines to avoid mistakes in the competition.

Important Guidelines:

  • You will have to follow given steps to become an eligible candidate in this competition.
  • Don’t forget to use @TechExclusive twitter handle while tweeting above text.
  • A single user can tweet the text only 2 times in a day. Don’t spam Twitter!
  • If you are using other social bookmarking sites then please leave your account id in the comment section below.
  • Mention the steps in comment section which you have completed in this competition.
  • If you try to spam in any way, you will be out of this competition.

I am keeping this competition open for next 10 days. I will announce the winner on November 30th. Now, you have enough time to collect more points.

Points:

  • 1 tweet, 1 blog post = 1 point
  • Answer to my question = 5 points

If you tweet more or share it on other websites then you will get more points. Try to collect as many points as you can in next 10 days, but don’t neglect the guidelines.

Think, share and win!

P.S.: The one who gives ‘killer answer’ to given question will get an extra point from my side. ;)

Update: Thanks for taking part in the contest. Results are declared here.

I play Ikariam. I want a google wave invitation so I can begin using it with my alliance. I think it would be good for collaborating war efforts because people are seldom online at the same time. People mention that it’s useful for business but I think it could be useful for gaming also.

Steps:
I have tweeted it here: http://twitter.com/alalala1alalala/status/5835410986

Hey, please mention your proper name. :)

Angi November 19, 2009 at 1:08 am

My apologies. I don’t really feel that proper names are appropriate online, but there you go, my name lol. ;)

What is this? You got the invitation for FREE so give it away for FREE. I know you have the invitations, they are yours: but Google did not make you jump over the hoops so why are you making everyone else do so? I acknowledge that you can do anything it pleases you, but don’t humiliate everyone else.

Harshad November 19, 2009 at 1:59 pm

Dude, I’m not humiliating anyone here. As you said, these invitations are free and that’s what I am doing here. I am not even charging single penny to get a Google Wave invitation.

If I do not add any competition here then I’d get tons of comments and it would be difficult for me to give away those invitations to so many people. :)

Reasons for wanting Wave – I spend about 6 hours a day, on average, on email as a coordinator in my community. Email is not the best solution for that. Google Wave seems to be designed for someone like me. I am willing to do my part in reporting bugs etc. that the development time might be interested in (only if they want it) or any such collaboration.

regards,

kasi

Hey there – I work for a charitable organisation bringing an international sports, culture & human rights event to our country. We work across timezones and cultures to support potential participants and we are all volunteers with full-time careers or study. We work hard to make time to collaborate and to make this a success for our community. Google Wave would be of immense value to us and our work.

i would like to be enabled to participate in googles communication experiment. I think you would be an interessting person to check out their thougths on how to create future forms of conversation. If you should invite me, you would be my first and only contact at the very moment. I’d like to take the risk riding a wave with a stranger.
