- Backup of your iPhone before trying to jailbreak the firmware.
- Sn0wbreeze Beta may have some bugs so be ready to handle them.
- If you’re not familiar with jailbreaking/unlocking, don’t use following guide.
Guide to Jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.2 with Sn0wbreeze
Requirements:
- iTunes
- iPhone 3.1.2 Firmware
- Sn0wbreeze
Steps to follow:
- Create a folder on your desktop and move the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware and sn0wbreeze files into it.
- Attach your iPhone with PC and sync it with iTunes.
- Open sn0wbreeze from the folder.
- Select ‘Simple Mode’ on your screen; don’t use ‘Expert Mode’.
- Browse .ipsw file of iPhone 3.1.2 firmware and select it.
- Wait for few seconds so that sn0wbreeze can verify the firmware.
- If your firmware is verified, it will prompt a message – “Do you want to activate your iPhone?”
- Click on “No” and move ahead.
- Sn0wbreeze will create a custom .ipsw file for your iPhone.
- Open iTunes and restore [shift+restore] your iPhone to above mentioned custom iPhone 3.1.2 firmware.
- iTunes will automatically install custom firmware on your iPhone.
That’s it! Now your iPhone is successfully jailbroken.
