iPhone hackers have released some tools, blackra1n, redsn0w 0.9.4 and sn0wbreeze in this week which works fine on Windows Operating System. Mac users can use Mac version of redsn0w, but it still not properly functional on many new devices.
iPhone Dev team has released an updated version of PwnageTool i.e. version 3.1.5. PwnageTool 3.1.5 supports Mac OS X. As of now it works perfectly on iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) and iPod Touch 1G, 2G models. Follow the guide to use PwnageTool successfully.

Guide to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 with PwnageTool 3.1.5
1. Open PwnageTool 3.1.5 on your desktop and choose your device.
2. PwnageTool will detect and verify the latest firmware.
3. After verifying, it will ask whether you have contract. Click on No. (Yes for official subscribers)
4. It will build a new Custom .ipsw file for your device so that you could easily jailbreak it.
5. Now, jailbreak your device with the help of custom firmware file. (Use Restore!)
6. That’s it. Wait till entire process gets finished.
