5 Killer Twitter Apps you can’t afford to miss!

Twitter logoTrue, twitter can be addictive. But if you have the right tool, twitter can be a lot more “productive” than you might have expected. Well, for those who don’t know what twitter is, here is an interesting video which explains the concept of twitter.

I am finally able to compile a list of 5 must-have twitter tools/services for you. Of course, the list could go longer, but since it’s a must-have list, 5 is good to go. Here is the list-

1. Buzzom

1
Buzzom is a Social Profile Management tool from InRev Systems. I liked the simple interface with uber-easy buttons which make it very easy to grow and manage your networks. Another feature which appealed to me is the multilingual interface. In my knowledge, Buzzom is the only service in this niche which is available in several international languages. Further, Buzzom is incorporating more exciting features in the coming weeks. No doubt, tops the list.

2. Tweedeck

tweetdeck
My favorite of the lot. It’s Desktop Twitter client which has quite literally changed the way that I Tweet on a number of levels.

Maintaining multiple twitter profiles was never so easy. You can post your status in multiple twitter profiles and facebook profile in a single click. It has integration with popular applications like tweetscoop and 12seconds.

Groups enable you to select any number of Twitter users to follow in a special window. This means that if you miss their twees in the ‘all tweets’ timeline you are likely to see their tweets in the group you’ve set up.

Also powerful in TweetDeck is the ‘Search’ feature which enables you to track keywords and who is using them right from within your Twitter Client. And yes, the black interface looks elegant.

3. Twitterbar

twitterbar
TwitterBar is a Firefox Add-on which allows you to tweet right from the address bar of Firefox. This nifty application is lightweight and unobstructive. It’s just like an install and forget utility, which seamlessly integrates with your daily surfing behaviour. As you start typing text in address bar, it shows you how many characters left for posting in twitter. You click the icon and it’s done.

I have installed/uninstalled a gazillion application in my laptop, and this has never been uninstalled even once. It was developed and is maintained by Christopher Flinke.

4. Twitpic

twitpic
Soon after I started using twitter actively, I strongly felt a need to be able to share more stuff on twitter rather than being confined to the 140 characters text. Being an avid facebook user, I wanted to share my photos on twitter, and Twitpic is exactly what I needed. And now with more and more applications being integrated, Noah’s Twitpic is a neat service available around.

5. Tweetscoop

twitscoop
Tweetscoop is another wonderful service with some very interesting features. It came in to limelight when CNN started using it for managing it’s official twitter account. It gives an easy way to see what are the hot topics in Twitter and what are the people talking about. Other interesting features include following stocks, track bit.ly statistics and the good old Ajax interface which never needs a reload to update.

Well that’s all for now. I tweet at @arunpattnaik anyway, in case you want to follow ;) .
