India, the country where people still struggle to get used to the new technology, has launched a new tablet, or rather cheapest tablet in the world. Priced at just $35 (Rs. 1700 approx.), Aakash – the new tablet is specifically designed for Indian students.

Indian Government has announced that they will buy 100,000 units on a pilot basis at Rs 2250 ($47) from London (UK) based DataWind company, and then it will be provided to the students at discounted price i.e. $35.
Since so many people are talking about this cheapest tablet, we thought it would be fun to compare it with the best selling tablet in the world. Here we go -

As you might have noticed, there is absolutely no comparison between these two devices. iPad 2 literally stands ahead in all aspects as compared to Aakash tablet.
Indian Government and manufacturers of the cheapest tablet have dumped some of the important features like Camera, 3G Connectivity etc. to maintain the low price of the device. However, these features would be included in commercial version of Aakash tablet.
If you’re keen to buy this tablet, Indian Government will allow retailers to sell this device by the end of October month, and it will cost Rs. 2999 ($60 approx.). The manufacturer is also going to launch a keyboard case for the tablet and you will have to pay additional Rs. 300 ($6 approx.) to get this case.

like the aakash good price
For $35 and a $50 upgrade this is the best tablet in the world. $ 50 going towards the processing speed.
So finally, retailers will sell this at Rps.5000 or maybe more.

[...] the cost of each device to under $20 – but how does it stack up to more expensive cousins? Tech-exclusive compared the top-selling, $500 iPad 2 with the Aakash, and [...]

Thn also aakash is good
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to mention 2 mistakes about AKASH’s Tablet
1st is 3G, yes you can connect an external usb 3G Dongal to use 3G service on AKASH.
3G=Yes
2nd is Camera, again yes you can connect an external usb Web-Cam to use Web-Cam service on AKASH.
Camera=Yes
Hey Piyush, it’s not a mistake. Akash tablet doesn’t have 3G and Camera features yet, though manufacturers might provide it in its commercial version.
There is a difference between *what you can connect* with the device and *what you have* in the device. As you said in your comment, we can connect 3G dongle and Web cam to enjoy the respected services, but you need to understand that these services are not included in Akash tablet. You have to buy those external devices to get their services.
I hope you got the point.
Yes Harshad, i got your point, and thanks for making this reply, i was just going to tell people that we can connect webcam and 3G dongle as well to fulfill our needs.
Hey bro i like your website, you have done a great job, keep it up……
