Apple has released the developer version of iPhone OS 4, which allows developers to understand the new features included in the OS. This beta version is only available for developers who have the developer’s account.
You can get the developer’s account by paying $100 to Apple, but some people can’t pay this amount due to several reasons. iH8sn0w, a popular hacker, has the solution of the problem.
He has posted a video on Twitter, which shows a trick to activate latest iPhone OS 4 beta on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
As displayed in above video, you just need to remove following two lines of code from SystemVersion.plist file.
<key>ReleaseType</key>
<string>Beta</string>
Please note that I have not tried this technique to install the iPhone OS 4 beta. It may or may not work on your device. Also, if you upgrade to iPhone OS 4, your device will get updated to new baseband i.e. 05.13.03 and you will permanently lose the unlock.
Uhm, iPhone OS must be installed first to use this method. Sorry.
It this is an option why is no one hosting this firmware with the 2 lines of code re-moved I am getting truly frustrated because I can not open the dmg file on windows and I keep being advised to just convert to ISO with no real solution….
How do you connect to your iphone if you can only place emergency calls. I only see apps that need for to be installed via for example Cyndia to get access to the file system of your iphone. Suggestions are welcome

What does this exactly mean? To me, 'unlock' means to use on a non-at&t network, is taht what you mean?
they're some websites people would add your ID for free then download the software in only works in apple mac, operation system unless you mount a virtual machine in windows, that's how i did it. if you guys want more details let me know. but warning, some applications doesn't work properly in the new OS 4

change ispw to zip and extract under mac os x.
decrypt 018-7340-029.dmg using
vfdecrypt -i 018-7340-029.dmg -o decrypted.dmg -k 62ea9bf9971e6c410231646f916f80330f9cbc1d1c585f0c03dab6b6f7158dc0a9c5efaf
then open dmg file in disk utility converting it to read/write, mount the dmg and adjust the file as described above. Then save changes and set dmg file back to 'compressed' with the mac os x disk utility.
Then zip all files back with command
zip image.ispw *
then you have hacked ispw. I tried but ispw will NOT restore to my iPhone

This Doesn't work. The ipsw got corrupted. iTunes wont accept the hacked ipsw.

That was my last sentence in that comment aswell, if your read it carefully. Even re-encrypting it won't work…
And I was so STUPID to try and restore the original 4.0, this worked but my UDID is not registered so I had to downgrade to 3.1.3. Resulting in having 3.1.3 with baseband 05.13.03 which is certainly not jailbreaked, (or unlockable).
For 3.1.3 with baseband 05.12 there should allready be a jailbreak-hack, but with my baseband it does not work …
I would be happy with just an unlock, that way I wouldn't be stuck with a iPhone with iPod Touch capabilities
if somebody makes the ipsw and knows it works, i am willing to host the file on my server
They have a created a jailbreak for it using redsnow 0.9.5 on the mac

Sorry. I don't actually have the file. I do have the un-hacked one for the iPod touch 3G. But I can get anyone amy of the OS 4 versions. iPhone 3GS, G3, iPod touch 3G, 2g….. And so on. If anyone wants any of them to hack or install if your UDID is registered, mail me at admin@chaz.co.cc.
I may have made it unclear. But I don't actually have the hacked one. But I am saying, if you have successfully hacked one, an tested it. Feel free to mail me at that address and I will willingly upload it to my website with credits to you. Not to me. It will make other peoples lifes easier. Like those requesting it now.
My UDID is actualy registered. It was registered today. All I need now is an apple mac to install it on. So I have no need for the hacked file in the first place. So get hacking and mail me if you want me to upload it and give full credit to you! Sorry, I have been a bit waffly. But I hope you all get what I mean
You have to convert the .dmg to read/write in Disk Utility first.
No it doesn't you decrypt the software and remove the code lines before installation!
