Android 3.0 ports have started appearing on the Internet. Yesterday, we noticed Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS on Google Nexus One, and now it’s applied to HTC Desire. The developer named, coolexe, at XDA forum has ported Google’s latest tablet OS to HTC’s smartphone.

As we have seen in the case of Nexus One, the newly ported OS doesn’t work properly on the device. HTC Desire developer has also used the same Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS while developing the custom ROM for the phone. Here’s a list of things that may work for you -
what’s working
- just booted.
- touchscreen. just install this kernel..couttstech-2.6.37_OC1190_SVS_Ginger_CFS
- Network working by pushing the /system/lib/libhtc_ril.so from any Desire build (like CM7) and change the rild.libpath=/system/lib/libreference-ril.so in build.prop to rild.libpath=/system/lib/libhtc_ril.so
This is just a developer release and general users should stay away from it. If you want to get your hands on this Android 3.0 port, hit the download link below.
