Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS Ported to Google Nexus One

Google’s first phone, Nexus One, has just been upgraded to Android 3.0! Well, not officially though. XDA developers have ported Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS to Google Nexus One.

The Android 3.0 port is developed with recently released Android 3.0 SDK, so you won’t find anything interesting in it. There is a lot of work to be done on this ROM to get all the features on the device. This custom ROM is still in its early stages and we won’t recommend it to users. If you’re a developer and want to explore Android 3.0, go ahead and download it from the link given at the end of this post.

The port developer has added some feature to Android 3.0 SDK to make it convenient for others -

  • Rooted
  • Added busybox (if you don’t have a color enabled shell – use dir instead of ls)
  • Added Filemanager from CM7
  • QuickBoot for reboot options
  • Terminal emulator
