When we really want an untethered jailbreak for new firmware, we don’t get it on time. And now, we have three untether exploits for iOS 5 devices. The third one is claimed by pod2g!
pod2g, an iPhone hacker, has confirmed on Twitter that he has found a new bug in iOS system that can be used to create an untethered jailbreak in the future. Here’s what he has said -
Hey jailbreaking friends, I’ve found a bug that can untether iOS 5. Don’t expect a release soon, but I’m gonna work hard in it.
iPhone Dev team has also found a similar untether exploit and they are currently working on it. Chronic Dev team members have already announced in an event that they will be releasing a new jailbreak based on userland technique. So, basically we have two confirmed jailbreak tools for iOS 5 devices, and if pod2g decides to burn another exploit, jailbreakers will get three different jailbreaking solutions in the upcoming weeks.
Let’s see who comes up with the first untethered jailbreak for iOS 5+ firmware.
