Apple gears up for LTE iPhone; Evidence Found in iOS 5

LTE technology is not new to the tech world, but very few mobile phone users are actually using it on their devices. Verizon and AT&T, the U.S. based service providers, are offering this service to their subscribers in the country and it can only be used on the compatible Android phones at this moment.

Currently, some companies are selling LTE 4G Android devices in the market. But, this picture is going to change soon as Apple is testing LTE technology in its iOS 5 updates. Folks over at MacRumors have found out the evidence of LTE related code while exploring the newly released iOS 5 beta firmware.

Earlier we have seen similar reports claiming the arrival of LTE iPhone in the world market, but it may not happen until 2012. Apple is preparing for the launch of a new iPhone in September or October, which will apparently have 3G connectivity for the network access.

Although Apple is ready to deploy this new technology in its future devices, the manufacturing team seems to have issues with the current chipsets. If Apple approves these LTE chipsets, it will affect the battery life of the phones. And that’s one of the important reasons why the company is not introducing LTE iPhone to the users. Hopefully, we will see a brand new iPhone next year with such advanced connectivity features.
