Surprised? Well, this could be true!

Apple has reportedly been working on its new iTV or Apple TV, which is expected to arrive in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year. Considering these rumors, there is a possibility that the company may want to invest few billions in English Premier League (EPL).
EPL is one of the most popular football leagues in the world and its incredible popularity could help Apple promote its new TV and other iDevices through various services in UK and other football-loving countries. The Daily Mail also notes that Apple’s rivals can also take part in this bidding process -
The Premier League is seen as the type of premium content that will help establish Apple TV in the UK and boost iPad sales, while the iTunes subscription service infrastructure is already in place.
The involvement of Apple – and their great multimedia rivals Google are also expected to make similar soundings – would give the PL a hugely competitive market at a time when the price of other TV sports rights are in decline.
If Apple wins EPL’s TV rights in the bidding process, it would be a huge boost for company’s future products. Still, it won’t be easy for them to win against tough and experienced players like Sky, ESPN and Al Jezeera, who are equally determined to grab those TV rights for the upcoming season.
