Apple has announced a new replacement program for the first generation iPod Nano devices. Apple team has found out that some of its old iPod Nano products may cause overheating issues due to the manufacturing error, which have been sold during the period of September 2005 – December 2006.
To avoid any kind of damage, Apple is now offering free iPod Nano as a replacement. So, if you have bought this iPod player in the aforementioned period, you will be eligible to get a brand new device from Apple.
You will have to fill this form with all the related details. In this process, you will be asked to provide the serial number of your device.

After submitting your iPod Nano to Apple, they will send your replacement within 6 weeks. Here’s what Apple says -
Your iPod nano serial number will be checked to verify that it is eligible for this program. You will receive a replacement unit approximately 6 weeks after we receive your current iPod nano (1st gen).
If you have a personalized iPod nano, you will receive a non-personalized replacement. Make sure to use iTunes to back up any data on your current iPod nano before sending it in for a replacement unit.
No other company would offer such replacement program for their products, even though they find serious bugs or technical issues after few years. And, this is probably the reason why Apple is the most valuable company in the world. It provides value to its customers, rather than just eyeing on the huge profit.
