Apple surpasses RIM to grab the 4th Position in 3Q10

Apple has always been criticized for their ‘different’ strategies to sell iPhones in the market, but now they have proved everyone wrong. According to the latest 3Q10 report of International Data Corporation (IDC), Apple has grabbed the 4th place after selling 14.1 million mobile phone devices in the global market.

With 4.1% market share, Apple has surpassed Blackberry makers RIM, which has sold 12.3 million units and has 3.6% market share. Nokia, Samsung and LG have maintained their top three positions respectively. It is also interesting to know that Apple and RIM have posted highest growth rates as compared to other competitor companies.

Sony Ericsson, another top mobile manufacturing company, has slipped down to the 6th position. The company has shipped 10.4 million units in the same quarter.

Even though iPhone 4’s launch wasn’t as successful as the expectations, the Apple team has worked a lot to rectify the mistakes. Fourth quarter of 2010 will obviously bring more sales and profit, as the holiday season is just around the corner.
