It’s almost sure that someone’s going to compromise Apple TV, so that users could enjoy the freedom of using third party apps on their TV. StealthBravo has now confirmed that there is a possibility of jailbreaking Apple TV using USB connectivity.
When you connect Apple TV to computer, it appears in iTunes and shows ‘Restore’ option, which is similar to iOS devices. If hackers come up with customized firmware for Apple TV, it would allow users to use the device without any constraints.
Apple TV also has 8GB of internal space for storage, which also means users can store the software file to jailbreak the device. Although we don’t have any tool ready to jailbreak the Apple TV, these interesting possibilities definitely open up the world of jailbreaking for end users.
Let’s hope that hackers develop a jailbreak tool for Apple TV soon.
