Apple TV to get Bluetooth and App Support with iOS 5?

Now that the iOS 5 release is around the corner, rumors are spreading that Apple’s set-top box alternative, the Apple TV might get a set of improvement with its iOS 5 firmware update.

It is speculated that with the iOS 5 update, Apple TV might get Bluetooth connectivity support. This will ultimately lead to unleashing of the utilities of the Apple TV. It can be linked up with other iOS devices like iPad or iPhone and be used as a second screen or as touchscreen controllers. Devices like wireless mouse or keyboard could be used as remotes with the Bluetooth connectivity.

The next big thing expected with the update are apps for Apple TV! With apps for Apple TV, it will be like a complete home entertainment system. Gaming on your Apple TV will surely add challenge for primary competitors. The Apple TV is expected to arrive with an A5 chip, own dedicated App Store and 1080p output by next year. That will surely bring a new way we’ll think of television!

All these are just speculations for now, but if we dig into the codes of iOS 5 SDK, all this is surely possible.
