Earlier today Apple team pushed a software update, iOS 5 Beta 3, to the iOS developers and now iPhone Dev team has come up with the upgraded version of Redsn0w tool, Redsn0w 0.9.8 Beta 2, to jailbreak the latest firmware update.
If you have tried Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 earlier with iOS 5 Beta 3, it might have caused sandboxing issues on the devices. To avoid such issue, please use Redsn0w 0.9.8b2 software, which is said to be a fix for those who are facing problems with earlier version of the tool.
As far as jailbreaking is concerned, this is not an untethered jailbreak tool, which means you will have to put your device in tethered boot to be able to use jailbreaking facility on the device. Since Comex has already utilized his untether exploit in JailbreakMe 3.0 tool, we are not sure about any future untethered jailbreak.
