Here comes the UltrasnOw! Yes, ultrasnOw has been released for all iPhone 3G users.
The iPhone Dev team has worked very hard to tackle and solve the bug issue in iPhone 3.0 firmware. Now you can easily unlock your iPhone 3G (baseband 04.26.08) using ultrasnOw tool.
Just go through the following steps to unlock your iPhone 3G. Please remember that ultrasnOw works with iPhone 3G which was unlocked with YellowsnOw.
Steps to Unlock iPhone 3G OS 3.0 with UltrasnOw
- Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
- Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
- Run Cydia or Icy
- Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or icy
- Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
- Reboot your iPhone 3G
- T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
Note: The ultrasnOw unlocking tool doesn’t work with new iPhone 3G S.

Hi there, It has been given me an unlocked Iphone with firmware version 3.0 2 weeks ago; how can i tell if it has been unlocked via ultrasnow? it was bought in Hong Kong, from an official reseller, so i should be safe but you never know.

If your iPhone is already jailbroken, check the ultrasnOw repo in Cydia. The ultrasnOw repo will tell you whether iPhone is unlocked with it or not.

According to your message if Cydia does not appear in the list of installed applications I can be safe that the device is factory unlocked, right? I mean isn’t it possible to unlock an iphone and then remove cydia and all its repos?

Cydia is just an app which can be removed after jailbreaking/unlocking. So, it doesn’t mean that if you don’t have it on iPhone, your iPhone is not unlocked with UltrasnOw.
Hi I used redsnow to unlock my iphone 2G. I upgraded to V3.1 and yeah we all know what happened. I downgraded it using Redsnow by installing Icy and Cydia but i couldnt unlock it coz i didnt know how to go about it when clicking the unlock option. My iphone is back on but it cant locate a network although Ive inserted my Vodafone sim into it. can anyone help me with this please

It should not take more than 2-3 mins. I think something is wrong with your iPhone jailbreaking procedure.
Hello Harshad how are you? I have few questions. I am not very familiar with Iphones and I just got one as a gift. It is a 3G Iphone that was used with AT&T and it just got upgraded to the 3.1 software version . I want to use it with TMobile so I have downloaded redsnow and followed the directions of how to use it. I get stuck at first step of using the redsnow. Once redsnow opens and I click on Browse and select the upgrade from the file it does not let me click on the Next tab. What am I doing wrong? Now What is Ultrasnow used for? I am confused now because I just read that redsnow can not be used to jailbrake 3G but only 2G. How do I get it unlocked? Sorry for so many questions but please help. My friends say I can NOT do it
Redsnow tool wont work on your iPhone. Use pwnagetool to jailbreak it and if you want to unlock it, you can use ultrasnow unlocking software.

I recently jailbroke my iphone 3G with the pwnagetool and installed ultrasn0w to unlock it to use it one the T-Mobile network. However, it still says No Service once the T-Mobile sim card is installed. What would you recommend to correct this so I can use the T-Mobile network.
PS. I turned off 3G before installing ultrasn0w. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
