Facebook has recently been criticized a lot for the privacy issues. To make things easier for end users, the company has added some new features to their popular social networking site.
In yesterday’s conference at Palo Alto, CA, Mark Zuckerberg revealed these new features and talked about the new changes made in the system. Facebook team has released three important features for users – Facebook Groups, Download Your Information and New Dashboard for Applications.
Facebook Groups
The company has finally decided to offer some privacy options to its users. This new feature allows us to form groups, which can be used to communicate and share information with selected group of people. In this, users can maintain their privacy with the help of private discussions and group chats.

Download Your Information
This is a quite interesting feature! Now, you can easily download Facebook information (includes your messages, Wall posts, photos, status updates and profile information) to your computer. To download your information, you’ll have to follow certain steps. For more information, head over to account settings.
New Dashboard for Applications
Facebook team has provided a new dashboard for application in this update. This new feature brings more control to end users, as they can put certain restrictions on the applications. Here’s what Zuckerberg said on the Facebook blog -
As this (New Dashboard) rolls out, in your Facebook privacy settings, you will have a single view of all the applications you’ve authorized and what data they use. You can also see in detail when they last accessed your data. You can change the settings for an application to make less information available to it, or you can even remove it completely.
These new changes clearly indicate that Facebook team has worked on the privacy issue, which was one of the major concerns for many Facebook users. People were expecting the announcement of a new design, but it seems that the company has no plan to release it so soon.
