• Go to start menu, type GPEDIT.MSC and open the Group Policy Object Editor.
• Follow this path:

  User Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> Double click on Start Menu and Taskbar

• Double click on Turn off all balloon notifications. Select Enabled and apply it.

• Close the Group Policy Object Editor.
• Logoff the window and Login back again.

Don’t use this Add-on on public computers where many people use same computer for their work. Even in your own house use it on your own risk who knows someone may read your private mails or details by using this Add-on.

3.    Following dialog box will open (You can also get it from control panel -> Power Options-> Change Plan Settings -> Change Advanced Power Settings).Search “Power buttons and lid” in power options.

4.    Select the “Start menu power button “and then select “Shut Down” option from the list.
5.    Click on apply and press ok.

Now you can use Windows Vista Power Button as a Shut Down instead of Sleep. As there are three options available, you can change power button to Sleep, Hibernate or Shut Down.
