Few days back, Apple team released iOS 4.3 update for all the iDevices, which is bundled with very useful features and tweaks for users. However, some users couldn’t update their devices to the new firmware update and have reported the Error 14 on different forums and online communities.

The error 14 appears while restoring the downloaded iOS 4.3 firmware to iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. If iTunes gives you similar error code during the process, try the official solution.
How to fix Error 14 on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad?
Here’s what Apple suggests you to resolve this error on iOS 4.3 device -
Method 1:
Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one of more of the steps listed below:
1. Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including a different USB port directly on the computer.
2. Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
3. Try a different USB 30-pin dock connector cable.
4. Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
5. There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your Registry. If your default packet size is set incorrectly it can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance.
6. Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
7. Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
Method 2:
Those who have tried the above steps are not really satisfied with the results. Though it works for some people, many people want some other solution to fix this error code. So, here’s another fix for you guys.
1. Backup iDevice on iTunes and restart your computer. (Make sure that your iDevice is not connected with it.)
2. Delete iOS 4.3 IPSW file from following path -
For Mac: Finder –>User_Name –>Library –>iTunes –>Apple Software Update
For Windows: C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update
3. Now, delete the same file from Recycle Bin (Windows) and Trash (Mac).
4. Open iTunes and connect iDevice to your computer.
5. Click on ‘Check for Update’ and wait for iTunes to show iOS 4.3 update message for your device.
6. Download it and try to restore again.
7. Your iDevice will be restored to the factory settings; update it with your saved data.
