In today’s Google I/O, Developers’ conference, Google team has revealed Android 2.2 ‘Froyo’ operating system for upcoming Android phones. The latest OS update brings lots of new features to enhance the functionality and usability of Android based phones.
Android 2.2 mainly provides better performance and speed with the new Dalvik JIT compiler. Google team has also added enterprise level facilities such as auto-discovery and calendar sync.

As the world is getting closer and closer with web, they have particularly enhanced the browser experience by including V8 JavaScript engine to the Android 2.2 browser. Android 2.2 will also support multiple keyboard languages so that users can write text in other languages. Devices like Nexus One can also be used as portable hotspot device.

Google team has worked on the new home screen, which brings dedicated shortcuts for The Phone, Application Launched and Browser. Once Android 2.2 comes out, users will find some other interesting features too.
