Google Search gets Advanced Features: Voice Search, Search by Image & Instant Pages

Google, the popular search engine on the Internet, has just got another major update in terms of new and innovative features. Yesterday, Google team held a media event in San Francisco to announce some of the latest developments and improvements for the search engine.

Google

In this event, Google basically rolled out 3 new features for users. Let’s take a deep look at all the features -

Voice Search for Desktop Computers

You might have used voice search on your Android phones. If you haven’t tried it yet, Google has brought this feature on desktop browsers. Google’s Voice Search uses Speech Recognition technology to recognize the spoken words and phrases. Google has improved this feature by using 230 billion words from real queries, and their efforts have helped voice search traffic grow six-fold in last one year.

Unfortunately, Google Voice Search is only available to English speakers. If you can’t speak English language, then you might have to wait for few months or years to enjoy this excellent feature. Anyway, here’s a quick demo video for enthusiasts -

How to get Voice Search on Desktop Computer?

As suggested in above video, you will need to download latest version of Google Chrome browser, which will allow you to search with the help of voice technology.

Search by Image

This is the second feature in the list. We have been using Google Image Search for so many years, but now they have added a new way to search images in Google Search.

We usually type something in search box to find an appropriate image, and then Google displays thousands of images on the result page. With Search by Image feature, you can directly upload any image to Google Image Search, which will automatically provide relevant search results.

Google’s Search by Image can be tried in 40 different languages. Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox users can utilize this feature by installing the necessary extensions.

Instant Pages

Another useful feature for Google users! As the name suggests, Google is now enabling pre-rendering option for Google Instant Search through which your desired search page and websites will load in no time.

Yes, this is true. Now, you don’t have to spend endless time waiting for a page to load on your browser’s window. Just one click and entire page will be displayed on the screen. Of course, it also depends on your internet connection. Users with slow internet connection won’t see any huge difference as compared to high speed internet connections.

Google Instant Pages feature will be included in the future release. If you still want to try it today, you can download Beta version of Google Chrome browser.
