For Android, the very major upcoming update is the Gingerbread. Name’s here, but it can always been around speculations that what version will it be? Commonly known for Android 3.0, the Gingerbread earlier was also rumored to be the Android 2.5. There has always been confusion regarding the version of Gingerbread.

Now, here is the latest scoop – it can be that the Gingerbread will be Android 2.3. Recently, on Google’s Issue Repository for Android, a Google employee commented on a bug thread about FroYo having problems with accessing corporate Wi Fi networks. This Google employee, there, stated that the Android 2.3 will be a “major release” and further discussed about this update likely to be fixed from all bugs.
A major update can mean a big update, but will it be the Gingerbread? Most likely.
