Google unveils New AdSense Options for iPad Applications

Advertising has become an important part of publishers as well as advertisers in this modern web. Apple had introduced its own ad service, iAd, in WWDC. The developers at Apple are working day and night to make its new platform more user friendly and interesting.

Google AdSense, the popular ad network on the Internet, has been providing their ads to several mobile platforms like Android, Symbian etc. The advertising giant is now entering into the iWorld with new ad formats for iPad applications.

As you can see in the image, there are 3 options available for ad publishers to show their ads on iPad apps. These 3 ad format options include – Leaderboard (728 x 90), Banner (468 x 60) and Medium Rectangle (300 x 250). Publishers can opt for text based as well as image based ads.

Currently, it’s available for beta users. To monetize your app with AdSense, you will have to apply for AdSense for Mobile Applications beta program. Once Google AdSense team approves the application, you can display ads on the iPad application. Use the following procedure to try this new revenue generation source.

  1. Sign up for free to become an AdSense partner or log in to your existing
    AdSense account at www.google.com/adsense.
  2. Within your AdSense Setup tab, select AdSense for Mobile Applications
    and follow the steps to complete the application for the beta program.
  3. Once your application is approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email
    with instructions on how to access your developer toolkit.
