Google Wallet – Shop with your Mobile Phone

Google’s new venture in real world market, Google Wallet, has finally been unveiled at New York event. As reported earlier, Google Wallet is a near field communication (NFC) based service for Android phone users.

Here’s a list of FAQs for new users -

How Google Wallet will help me?

Google’s Wallet service is specifically designed to those who use mobile phones very frequently in their daily routine. This service will help you in many cases. You don’t have to carry Credit Cards, Cash, Coupons or anything else while shopping in the stores (only few stores have tied-up with Google for the initial period). You will also receive offers and discounts to buy various products.

So, what’s the big deal? This question might popup in some of the readers’s mind. Well, Google is trying to replace the conventional payment methods with the help of Google Wallet. Many companies are offering such services, but Google will hopefully launch this service on larger scale.

Can I try Google Wallet on my mobile phone?

As I mentioned above, Google Wallet needs a NFC compatible device. Other than that you will need to have an Android phone, as Google’s Wallet currently works with Android devices.

Even though you have fulfilled these two conditions, you can not try this service if you’re living outside the US. That’s right! Similar to other Google ‘beta’ services, Google Wallet is not available in other part of the world. Is that it? Nope. You can experience this service only on Sprint’s Nexus S 4G.

How does Google Wallet work in the real world?

Engadget team has recorded a video, which will give you an idea about this service. Have a look at the video below -

How much does it cost?

It’s absolutely free! Google is not asking anything from the customers.
