Guide to jailbreak iOS 4.1 Beta on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G

Earlier today, we got the iPhone firmware iOS 4.1 Beta update from Apple team. The newly released firmware is just another update to fix some known bugs and errors. For those who don’t know, it will not fix the antenna reception problem on your iPhone devices.

The iOS 4.1 Beta firmware is currently released for developers and you will need an iPhone developer account to test this update. iPhone Dev team has suggested jailbreakers and unlockers to stay away from iOS 4.1 Beta as they are still investigating the changes in the new version of OS.

However, Musclenerd has approved the iOS 4.1 Beta for jailbreak and enthusiasts can jailbreak it with previously released Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5. The Redsn0w tool is presently supporting iPod Touch 2G (MC model) and iPhone 3G model.

Redsn0w 0.9.5 follows same instructions as we have seen in its previous versions. So, you can safely try these steps to jailbreak the firmware.

Note to unlockers -

Redsn0w tool is just a jailbreak tool for iOS 4.1 Beta, and Ultrasn0w 0.93 has not been upgraded to unlock iOS 4.1.

iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 3G users should backup their SHSH blobs as it will help you in future jailbreaking process.
