iH8sn0w, an iPhone hacker, has released a new tool to jailbreak iOS 4.1 Beta. The Sn0wbreeze 1.8 Beta supports iPod Touch 2G, iPod Touch 3G and iPhone 3GS.
If you have jailbroken your iDevices on iOS 4.0, you can use Sn0wbreeze 1.8 to jailbreak the iOS 4.1 Beta version. iPhone 3G users should use Redsn0w to jailbreak the firmware. The following guide will help you understand the steps involved in jailbreak the newly released iOS firmware.
Please note that iOS 4.1 can be jailbroken with Sn0wbreeze 1.8, but there is no unlock tool available at this moment. So, if you are not worried about unlock, go ahead and use Sn0wbreeze 1.8 Beta.
Guide to jailbreak iOS 4.1 Beta with Sn0wbreeze 1.8 Beta
Requirements:
- Download iOS 4.1 Beta
- Download Sn0wbreeze 1.8 Beta
- iTunes 9.2
- .Net Framework
Steps to follow:
1. Download all the files on your desktop and connect your iDevice to computer.
2. Open Sn0wbreeze 1.8 and select appropriate mode on the screen. Simple Mode is preferable for new users.
3. Browse iPhone/iPod Touch firmware and wait for verification process.
4. Now, click on Yes to activate your iPhone. AT&T users should click on No.
5. Sn0wbreeze 1.8 will start processing to create a custom firmware for your device.
6. Once done, “Restore” your iDevice in iTunes 9.2 to the custom firmware.
7. Now wait for few minutes to jailbreak and install the new firmware on your iPod Touch or iPhone.
8. Hurray! You have successfully jailbroken the iOS 4.1 firmware.
