Guide to Unlock iPhone 2G OS 3.0 with PwnageTool 3.0


Pwned The iPhone Dev team has released official PwnageTool 3.0 for iPhone 2G users which only works with Mac OS X. Now, iPhone 2G users can easily jailbreak and unlock their devices on Mac.

If you have jailbroken your iPhone with QuickPWN software then you can’t use PwnageTool 3.0 this time. You should wait for QuickPWN 3.0 to release.

Here’s a small guide to jailbreak and unlock iPhone 3.0 firmware with PwnageTool 3.0.

Guide to Jailbreak & Unlock iPhone 2G OS 3.0 with PwnageTool 3.0 (Mac)

Requirements:

Steps to follow:

1. Install iTunes 8.2 on your computer.

2. Create a folder PwnageTool 3.0 on the desktop and save PwnageTool 3.0, iPhone 3.0 firmware and bootloader files in this folder.

3. Launch PwnageTool and select your device on the screen, click on arrow to continue.

4. In next step, browse your iPhone 3.0 firmware and follow all the instructions to build the custom firmware.

5. Save the custom firmware in same folder and put your iPhone in DFU mode.

6. Open iTunes 8.2 and restore the custom firmware.

7. Your iPhone will automatically restart after the restore process completes.

8. The BootNeuter will appear on iPhone, which will help you unlock the iPhone.

Now, enjoy your iPhone 2G with iPhone 3.0 firmware. :)
