Apple team has bagged another prestigious award for some of its popular products. Apple’s iPhone 4, App Store and few iOS games have been picked to honor with the Guinness World Records in its latest edition.

Apple iPhone 4, launched in 2010, has become a landmark for most of the mobile manufacturers in the tech industry. With 1.5 million sales on first day, the Cupertino based company is still noticing huge demand for the product, and this has been proved again when they recently launched White iPhone 4 models in the market. Guinness team also verified its facts with other popular gadgets -
For comparison, the PSP shifted 200,000 units on its launch date in 2005, and the DS took a week to move 500,000 consoles in November 2004.
In Guinness World Records 2011 Gamer’s Edition, iPhone 4 has been awarded as the fastest-selling portable gaming system.
Next award is for the Apple App Store. As noted by Guinness, App Store has served 6.5 billion downloads since its launch in July 2008. There is no doubt that Apple’s marketplace is incredibly popular among iDevice users, as the quality and quantity of apps is far better than its competitors.
For its wonderful service, Apple App Store has achieved three Guinness awards – Most Popular Application Marketplace, Largest Downloadable Video Game Store and Largest Launch Line-up of Any Gaming System.
Apart from just Apple products, the iOS games have also received appreciation from Guinness World Records. In this category, Angry Birds, Plants vs. Zombies, Tap Tap Revenge and Frotz have been awarded for Top Paid-For App Store Game in Most Countries, Fastest-Selling iPhone/iPod Strategy Game, Most Popular iPhone Game Series and First Text Adventure Engine for iPhone respectively.
