HTC Hero, one of the first Android based phones, has almost stopped receiving official updates from the company, but developers are trying their best to bring latest Android OS for the phone. Now, developers at XDA have ported Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS to HTC Hero CDMA.
The aospCMod firmware, based on Android 2.3.2, is available for Hero users. You can check out following screenshots to see how Android 2.3 looks on HTC Hero device.

Those who have tried this ROM are happy with its performance. But, if you want to install Android 2.3 on your phone, try it at your own risk.
