iAdKiller – Apple iAd Blocker for Jailbroken iDevices

Apple had announced iAd advertising platform at WWDC 2010 event. The new mobile advertising program is designed to help developers earn some revenue from their apps.

Companies love advertising methods to promote their businesses, but end users sometimes find it annoying. Since Apple has included iAd in the iOS, users have been searching for a solution to block these ads.

iAdKiller

Yllier, a software developer, has developed iAdKiller to block iPhone ads. This tool simply disables all the iAds from the iPhone apps and lets you enjoy ads free experience on the jailbroken iDevices.

Note: The developer has just released the source code to notify everyone that the blocking iAd is very simple. iAd provides earning source to developers. If you try it on your devices, it will definitely hurt them.

Guide to install iAdKiller on iPhone or iPod Touch

Download iAdKiller Deb fileiAdKiller

Steps to follow:

1. Connect your iPhone to PC or Mac.

2.. SSH into your iPhone.

3. Copy above file in tmp folder.

4. Run this command in Mobile Terminal – dpkg -i /tmp/iAdsKiller.deb

5. Close the Mobile Terminal and reboot your iPhone.
