Apple might have launched iPhone 4S successfully in most of the countries, but the company is still facing some serious issues with the battery life of iOS 5 devices. Today, they have rolled out a minor update, iOS 5.0.1, to certain end users who had previously complained about the battery life.

iOS 5.0.1 update was initially released for official iOS developers in which Apple had provided important bug fixes related to this issue. Although today’s release is limited to small no. of users, Apple team will come up with a major release to entirely terminate the battery problem on iOS 5 devices.
The firmware update is available through Apple’s AppleSeed Program, so you will have to download it from there. As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple has warned users that the won’t be allowed to downgrade their devices to lower firmware. However, it’s possible to upgrade such devices to future updates.
The retails stores have also been advised on how to handle the battery related problems with the iDevice owners. If you’re planning to replace your device due to the said issue, Apple Stores won’t replace it, as they have been told that there will be a software fix for them.
