iPads to replace Paper Information in Australian Apple Store

Apple retail stores in Australia have launched a new kind of Apple Store which they call the Retail 2.0, on the occasion of Apple Store’s 10th anniversary.

The new thing in the Retail 2.0 is the removal of paper information displays beside every product. They are replaced by iPads! Near every Apple product, there is an iPad 2 with details of the product. You can see specs, design, price and even compare it with its models. There is also an option to call the Apple Specialist assistance to help you.

Also, if you visit the Apple Store website on your iOS device, you will be prompted to download the new official Apple Store app which is used in the stores. You can browse, buy and compare different Apple products on the app itself interactively.

Though the change isn’t very big, just replaced paper information with interactive app on iPads, but it sure is interesting. We’d love to see more Apple Stores being upgraded with iPads as product manuals!
