Finally the much awaited iPhone OS 3.0 is now available for iPhone and iPod Touch users! The latest iPhone 3.0 update comes with lots of new features which were showcased at Macworld Expo, San Francisco.
Although the iPhone 3.0 has been released, users will have to check the iPhone Dev team’s instructions to unlock their iPhone. Dev team has already released QuickPWN & Pwnagetool to jailbreak the devices and they have a new software, named as ‘ultrasnOw’ to unlock iPhone.
The ultrasnOw is an updated version of YellowsnOw software which was used in unlocking process of iPhone 3G. If you upgrade iPhone 3.0 (Build 7A341) on your iPhone then it will automatically update the baseband to 04.26.08.

Why do you want to extract the file? It’s already in .ipsw file and you can’t extract it further.

The download is a .zip file. It needs renamed from .zip to .ipsw to be recognized – none of the instructions say this.

Hi, please help. I downloaded the 3.0 firmware, and extracted it, and it says the file “fseventsd” cannot be encrypted. I clicked “skip”, and finished the exaction. And then I cannot find this “ipsw” file in Redsnow. Please help!
