Apple tablet, the next generation device, has started getting all the attention from popular technology blogs as well as mainstream media. Yesterday, we have heard rumors about 7-inch Apple tablet, which Apple might launch in next year’s event.
The rumors of upcoming Apple tablet are spreading like wild fire and to spice up the tablet discussion, MacRumors guys have posted about ‘iSlate’. According to them, iSlate.com would be used as an official portal for Apple tablet and the device would be known as iSlate.
Why iSlate?
Now, you will ask why iSlate and why there is no other name for tablet?
In school days, everyone has used slate for learning first lessons of life. It is obviously an unforgettable part of our life. Some of the leaked screenshots of tablet look exactly same as a slate so it would be good to launch this device with the name iSlate.

One more interesting thing is that iSlate.com domain name was registered in October 2004. Since 2007 it is placed at MarkMonitor.com, which is a popular registrar company and also hosts Apple’s domain names. If you check whois details of iSlate.com, you will find that it has been registered by Apple Inc.

So, this means that Apple may launch something with the name iSlate and in the near future there is only one device, Apple tablet going to be launched. iSlate seems a like an appropriate name for the tablet device.
