Make Phone Calls on Windows 8

Oh, wait! This feature is not enabled in Windows 8 Developer Preview, so there is no way you can call your friends with the help of new desktop operating system.

However, it’s almost confirmed that Microsoft is developing an exciting feature on Windows 8, which will help future users make easy phone calls via their Windows 8 tablets. Sounds cool, isn’t it? But where is the proof?

Well, this time we have a solid proof of the phone call feature in Windows 8. Just see the following images -

Both these pictures suggest that there is much more in the upcoming Windows operating system than mere UI enhancements and feature improvements. With phone calls feature in Windows 8, Microsoft team might be looking to come up with new set of tablet devices.

Such devices, however, have not done well in the global market. People always prefer a dedicated mobile phone over a large sized tablet to make important calls. Still, this feature adds extra benefit to the device users, as they can communicate with other person while surfing web or watching a movie on the tablet.

On the other hand, Microsoft is simultaneously developing Windows Phone 8 OS for mobile devices and it plans to unify the platform like iOS and Android. So, we are not sure about how this technology is going to be implemented in the tablets or desktop PCs.

Is Microsoft trying to replace mobile phones with its phone call feature in the tabs and desktops? We don’t know, but we can at least say that the OS user will have flexibility to enjoy some of the telecom services on his computer.
