Netflix App for iPad Hacked to Run on the iPhone

Desperately want to get the Netflix application running on your iPhone? Well, a tipster over at modmyi.com managed to get the Netflix application for iPad, run on an iPhone. The tipster basically copied the iPad media player framework and Netflix application to his iPhone, and made some changes to the plist to get the application running.

The application does have a few niggles though. The tipster reports that the Netflix application is a huge battery drainer. He said that around 25% of the battery capacity was consumed, for just 15 minutes of video streaming.

The main problem with the application is the slow speed even on a 3G network. Even on a 3G network, the application takes ages to load and start streaming videos. Other problem is that the application crashes a lot.

The tipster says that this might be due to a low memory issue, and another reason might be that the Netflix application was created for another device. The steps to get the application working on the iPhone have been given as well. Keep in mind that you will need a jailbroken iPhone.
