Skype is a big name is in online voice calling and services. Skype, today, rolled out their new version of desktop software with a major social change in it. The new Skype desktop is now able to make calls to your Facebook friends and do even more.
The new Skype has received a full integration with Facebook. This not only means calling and messaging your Facebook friends from Skype itself but also that now you can use it as an real time aggregator for your Facebook updates and news. You can comment on your friend’s updates and even Like it from the news feed reader in Skype itself.
Another big addition to Skype is group video calling. First time at such a big extend, this feature was much needed for a VoIP giant like Skype. Users can make video calls in group now on and this is really big in web interaction.
A big break here is, major features and working of the new Skype is limited to Windows only. Oops, sorry for Mac users. A minor release with features updates will be pushed to Mac users soon. Also, there is news that similar feature of Facebook contact syncing will be added soon to mobile apps of Skype, like the recently launched Android Skype.
To try it out, go to Skype official site and download the latest version.
