The versions for the Google chrome browser are increasing at the rate of Jet planes and just as we get used to the version at hand, Google is ready with another. Google has managed to churn out five major releases of the Chrome browser since its December 11, 2008 debut.
However, even with advances there is still some work left over the browser. The latest version Chrome 6 is still in its developing stages but one would love its built-in PDF support and vastly improved printing, better syncing, cleaned up interface, and more.

There are a few things that are still missing from the Chrome 6 bandwagon and we will have to wait till the version 7 is decided upon. Printing support has been the weak point of Chrome browser from the beginning, but Google has tried hard to catch up. The newest version is missing the very essential Print preview feature, a feature that is very important for people who thrive by printing contents from the net. Also, the Side tabs that have been a hallmark in the Opera web browser have been pushed to the version 7 of the browser.
The Full screen HTML5 video support which was highly talked about and well incorporated in the latest version of the Safari browser will also be missing from the feature truck of the Chrome 6. The Native Client project that was making big news is also not being made available in this version, the Native Client technology lets a downloaded program (from the net of course) to run safely and fast on a computer. The Native Client technology restricts the program to run in only a constricted or walled off area of memory hence making it safer and easier for the user to use the use programs downloaded from the web. But there is no need to be very happy as the Native Client apparently won’t make it in Chrome 6. However, it will be available if the users specifically enable it on their browsers.
But, these shortcomings cannot be considered as a basis to count the Chrome 6 out as there are a lot of excellent features that have been incorporated in the new browser including the built-in PDF reader which indeed is my favorite.
