We have been listening to iPhone 3G performance issues on recently launched iOS 4 software, but there is no appropriate fix available for the end users. iPhone 3G was included in the list of iOS 4 compatible phones, and it was expected to run smoothly on the new firmware update.
However, iOS 4 seems to have serious compatibility issues with the iPhone 3G and older devices. Apple had confirmed that they would provide a software fix for the issue, which is still not released.

In an e-mail conversation, Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs, has once again assured that the upcoming software update will solve the problems for iPhone 3G users. See the conversation after the break.
A customer to Steve -
I’ve waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I’ve read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I’m not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple.
Steve’s reply -
Software update coming soon.

The iOS 4.1 beta has been released for developers, and it will be available for end users in coming weeks. Does this mean Apple’s iOS 4.1 update has fix for iPhone 3G performance?
