iPhone users and iPod Touch users were desperately waiting for an official announcement of new firmware update at Apple’s latest creation event. Apple didn’t announce anything in the event except the much rumored iPad.
Today, they have finally released a small firmware update, iPhone OS 3.1.3 for all the users. It fixes many bugs such as iPhone 3GS battery level reporting, app crashes during launch etc.

Good news for all iPhone 3G and 3GS users. GeoHot is back once again to rescue iPhone lovers. Those who have updated their phones to firmware 3.1.2 through iTunes can unlock iPhones using new tool.
In his recent post update, he has mentioned that he’s working hard on an unlocking tool called Blacksn0w. This tool will unlock 05.11.07 baseband on iPhone 3G and 3GS. The procedure of creating unlocking tool for latest baseband is difficult. So, it would definitely take some time for the final release of Blacksn0w unlocking tool.

Few hours ago, Apple has released an update for iPhone 3.0 firmware, i.e. iPhone 3.0.1. The new firmware update is a fix for SMS vulnerability which was discovered by Charlie Miller.
It is recommended to update iPhone and iPod Touch as this update will secure your device from SMS virus attack.
