5. Browse .ipsw file of iPhone 3.1.2 firmware and select it.
6. Wait for few seconds so that sn0wbreeze can verify the firmware.
7. If your firmware is verified, it will prompt a message – “Do you want to activate your iPhone?”
8. Click on “No” and move ahead.
9. Sn0wbreeze will create a custom .ipsw file for your iPhone.
10. Open iTunes and restore [shift+restore] your iPhone to above mentioned custom iPhone 3.1.2 firmware.
11. iTunes will automatically install custom firmware on your iPhone.

That’s it! Now your iPhone is successfully jailbroken.

Since last two days, many jailbroken iPhone users have been facing serious issue with Cydia app. Earlier, iPhone users have encountered Cydia crashing problem with iPhone 3.0 firmware and it was caused due to a corrupt package file.

The current Cydia problem is bit different from previous one. If you have installed ZodTTD repository, you will find Cydia crashing frequently on iPhone. We can solve this issue by implementing two methods.

Fix Cydia Crashing in iPhone 3.1.2

Requirement: iPhone 3.1.2 firmware on iPhone.

Method 1:

1. Open ‘iFile’ App from your iPhone and go to main directory.
2. Follow this path – Var/Lib/Apt/Lists
3. Select all files by using ‘Edit option.
4. Uncheck ‘Partials’ directory.
5. Now click on Bin option to delete the files.
6. Close the app and reboot your phone.

Note: Don’t remove partials directory.

Method 2:

If above method doesn’t work for you, try following method to fix the problem.

1. Download WinSCP (for Windows users) and Cyberduck (for Mac users).
2. Open these tools on your computer.
3. Enter appropriate details in the given fields.
4. Follow this path - /private/etc/apt/sources.list.d
5. Search for ZodTTD and remove it from the list.
6. Reboot your phone.

Done! Now you can enjoy Cydia app one again.

Today, iPhone dev team has released a new unlocking tool, Ultrasn0w 0.92 to unlock iPhone 3.1.2 firmware. Earlier ultrasn0w 0.9 was working perfectly, but in the latest firmware update it has started giving some weird problems to iPhone users.

If you’ve unlocked iPhone with previous version of ultrasn0w then there is no need of following the steps given below. Just go to ultrasn0w in your Cydia app and ‘modify’ it. This will install ultrasn0w 0.92 on your iPhone 3.1.2. Now restart iPhone to get proper carrier name and logo.

Steps to follow:

1. Open ‘Cydia’ and go to ‘Manage’.

2. Select ‘Source’ and then open ‘Edit’.

3. Add following repo :

4. Now search ‘ultrasn0w’ in Cydia and install it on your iPhone.

Ultrasn0w 0.92 will unlock iPhone 3.1.2 firmware. Once the installation process gets over, reboot your phone and then you will see the appropriate carrier name and logo.

GeoHot has released blackra1n RC3 in this week and it helps user jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 firmware. Good thing about this tool is that it also includes blacksn0w, which is an unlocking tool for 05.11.07 baseband.
