Recently, Apple has released new firmware update iPhone 3.1.3, which also updates the old baseband to new baseband 05.12.01. There is no unlocking tool available for the new baseband, but users can jailbreak the devices with popular jailbreaking tools like Redsn0w, Blackra1n.
An iPhone hacker at Gull1b0ard has published an article about his new jailbreaking tool, Gull1hack, which he claimed to be running on all the devices with iPhone 3.1.3 firmware. Hacker has also explained the way he found the exploit in boot system of iPhone 3GS.

iPhone hackers have released some tools, blackra1n, redsn0w 0.9.4 and sn0wbreeze in this week which works fine on Windows Operating System. Mac users can use Mac version of redsn0w, but it still not properly functional on many new devices.
iPhone Dev team has released an updated version of PwnageTool i.e. version 3.1.5. PwnageTool 3.1.5 supports Mac OS X. As of now it works perfectly on iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) and iPod Touch 1G, 2G models. Follow the guide to use PwnageTool successfully.

Redsn0w, blackra1n are still not properly updated to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 firmware on different iPhone devices, but there is one more tool, Sn0wbreeze available for iPhone users.

iPhone users and iPod Touch users were desperately waiting for an official announcement of new firmware update at Apple’s latest creation event. Apple didn’t announce anything in the event except the much rumored iPad.
Today, they have finally released a small firmware update, iPhone OS 3.1.3 for all the users. It fixes many bugs such as iPhone 3GS battery level reporting, app crashes during launch etc.

Apple’s yearly conference will be held on January 26th and rumors about its upcoming products have already started spreading on the internet.
A forum member at apfeltalk has found out an interesting thing on his new iPhone 3G packaging. The packaging on the phone was labeled with iPhone 3GS 8GB, which is still not released by Apple. iPhone 3GS is only available in two versions i.e. 16GB and 32GB.

Today, iPhone dev team has released a new unlocking tool, Ultrasn0w 0.92 to unlock iPhone 3.1.2 firmware. Earlier ultrasn0w 0.9 was working perfectly, but in the latest firmware update it has started giving some weird problems to iPhone users.
After jailbreaking iPhone 3.1.2 firmware with PwnageTool 3.1.4 and unlocking it with ultrasn0w, many users found that carrier name and logo was missing. Now, this bug has been removed from old ultrasn0w tool and ultrasn0w 0.92 comes with proper fix.

Motorola Droid, the first phone in Droid series is currently getting all the media attention because of its advanced features. The phone has already been announced by Verizon Wireless and is now available for users. Motorola Droid costs for $199 with 2 years contract with the same company.
Till now, iPhone 3GS is the best phone in the world, but after the announcement of Motorola Droid and its features in recent conference, people have started looking it as a “iPhone killer”. Many smartphones ( including Nokia’s N97 ) have been compared with iPhone and all of them have failed to beat Apple’s iPhone in various categories.

Blacksn0w has already been released by GeoHot on November 4th. For those who don’t know anything about blacksn0w, it is an unlocking tool developed by popular iPhone developer GeoHot. It helps iPhone to unlock baseband 05.11.07 on iPhone 3.1.2 firmware.
