Motorola Droid, the best phone in android series, is currently available to US Verizon subscribers. Motorola has got very good response from mobile phone users and they have decided to bring it for worldwide users too.

Official sources at Motorola have confirmed that they would be launching Motorola Droid ‘unlocked version’ in February 2010. They are also planning to launch Motorola Droid 2 (Sholes) along with Droid.

These days we have been listening to so many rumors about futuristic mobile phones, which have high-end specifications and attractive features as compared to Motorola Droid. If Motorola launches the phone in next year, it would be difficult for the phone to sustain in the mobile phones competition.

At this moment, Motorola Droid costs $199 in the US. If company decides to launch it worldwide, then the phone price might go up and people would also consider other options.

Nokia has revealed Nokia Money, a new mobile financial service for its millions of customers across the world. Now Nokia users can send or receive money with the help of phone number of other person.

The Nokia Money service will enable users to pay their bills, recharge their prepaid SIM cards, buy movie tickets etc. It will be available for 24 hours a day. Nokia users can deposit or withdraw cash from their accounts which will be managed by Nokia Money agents. Nokia has planned to launch this service in co-operation with Obopay, a leader in developing global mobile payment solutions.

Apple has announced the new iPhone 3GS at recent WWDC ’09 and it can be pre-ordered at apple store with AT&T contract.

Airtel and Vodafone have official rights to sell iPhone mobile devices in India. Last year, they have sold many iPhone devices which were allowed to use with only one carrier i.e. Airtel or Vodafone.

Unlocking of iPhone is not allowed by Apple, but Airtel now allows you to unlock the cell phones. This means that you can use it with any carrier after buying from Airtel. Apple’s website displays the authorized unlocking of iPhone devices with Airtel carrier. Airtel has not confirmed this facility, but we can expect an announcement soon.

iPhone 3.0 Beta has already been released for official developers. In order to try iPhone 3.0 firmware, you will have to wait till summer or else you can download it from given links. Install iPhone 3.0 Beta on the iPhone

1. Get the IPSW file from downloaded file and save it in a folder.
2. Now, plugin iPhone to your computer and grab the registered UDID.
3. Start iTunes application. Click on ‘Restore’ and hold the ‘shift key’.
4. Select the appropriate IPSW file from the folder.
5. iTunes will automatically recognize the firmware and upgrade the iPhone with iPhone 3.0 firmware.

Install iPhone 3.0 Beta on the iPod Touch

1. Download iPhone 3.0 Beta for iPod Touch and extract the IPSW file. Save it in a folder.
2. Connect iPod Touch to the machine and grab the registered UDID.
3. Turn OFF internet connection from the iPod Touch. Do not allow iPod Touch to get any internet access.
4. Start iTunes application. Click on ‘Restore’ and hold the ‘shift key’.
5. Select the appropriate IPSW file from the folder.
6. iTunes will automatically recognize the firmware and upgrade the iPod Touch with iPhone 3.0 firmware.

How to get the UDID registered for iPhone and iPod Touch?

iPhone 3.0 upgrade process requires UDID, which should be registered on the iPhone developer program. You will have to pay $100 to enroll yourself into the iPhone developer program. However, there are third party websites (Link) offering registration of UDID for $5.

Update: Few iPhone 3.0 Beta users have experienced that it is very unstable and hence Apple team has released iPhone 3.0 Beta 2. The iPhone 3.0 Beta 2 firmware has build number of 7A259g which comes with MMS feature. Download iPhone Firmware 3.0 Beta 2 from: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/
