Unofficial Cydia 1.1.2 Update Available [Not for Jailbreakers]

Cydia app, one of the most popular app in jailbreaking community, has been reportedly updated to the new version i.e. Cydia 1.1.2 and is now available on the Internet. It is being said that this release is only applicable for iOS 5 developers who want to develop apps for third party app users.

Cydia 1.1.2

Cydia 1.1.2 contains some graphical bug fixes and speed improvements. Please note that this just test update for the upcoming major iOS release, so it might contain lots of bugs and errors.

Saurik, the creator of Cydia, has officially confirmed that this update is not released for the end users. If you’re thinking of installing Cydia 1.1.2 on your iDevice, try it at your own risk. Here’s the statement from Saurik -

This /purposely-unreleased/ version of Cydia has only one major change in it (and four tiny things, only one of which is user-visible: the keyboard thing under Search): a modification to “stashing” (the step where your file system is rearranged during the initial jailbreak process) made for comex, who recently has been talking about his new platform for handling these things.

This change has not been tested on devices that are already jailbroken (well, I did a cursory test for 2 minutes, but that was all), and users upgrading to this version of Cydia do so at their own peril: Cydia might end up in a “permanent re-stash” loop, or force a stash when the user has purposely previously tricked the mechanism not to (leading to a corrupted file system).

We won’t provide the installation guide, as it may harm your devices. If you still want to try this updated Cydia app, head over to ModMyi.
