At the Where 2.0 conference, two researchers, Alasdair Allan and Pete Warden, revealed that Apple iPhone and 3G enabled iPad devices are capable of tracking user information. With iOS 4.x software update, Apple has implemented this new technique to gather user locations and time stamps details.
The developers have explained the scenario -
Ever since iOS 4 arrived, your device has been storing a long list of locations and time stamps. We’re not sure why Apple is gathering this data, but it’s clearly intentional, as the database is being restored across backups, and even device migrations.

However, you can protect your information with Untrackerd app. An iPhone Developer from Canada, Ryan Petrich, has developed this application for iPhone and iPad 3G devices. Here’s how it works -
A package installs a daemon (process that can run in the background) to clean consolidated.db file) No new icons are added to your homescreen. There are no options to configure.
Unfortunately, this app works only on jailbroken devices and it is currently available in Cydia tool. If you haven’t jailbroken your iDevice on iOS 4.3.2 firmware yet, check out the following jailbreak tools.
