Alcatel Pop 3 5.5 Review
A 5.5in screen is pretty much the new standard these days. If you're after a big screen without the hefty price tag, you can't go wrong with an Alcatel phone.
The big display is very sharp, and it offers 401ppi for an extremely crisp picture. The IPS panel copes with light and bright conditions very well, too. It's also surprisingly natural-looking for a big screen, with good angled viewing and bright, vibrant colours.
In fact, it's hard to find anything to dislike about the display on the Pop 3 5.5. It's crisp, with a great colour gamut and a nice, smooth texture. It's a real pleasure to use, and it's not a bad price at PS270 either.
What's more, the Alcatel pop 3 5.5 has a nifty row of shortcut icons along the bottom of the display (including one for selfies) and shortcuts in the corners, too. This works okay, but it takes a bit of getting used to - you have to double-tap the alerts and icons on the lockscreen, for example, or swipe them in unintuitive directions (eg the camera icon slides towards the left corner) to open them.
The Alcatel pop 3 5.5 is compatible with most GSM carriers and supports 4G LTE data, which can deliver speeds that are fast enough to compete with wired broadband internet providers in many areas. However, you should check that your carrier's network uses a frequency or band supported by this phone before purchasing.
